Psychedelic Leeds 5 piece Formes are set to release their debut single Absence Of The Noise on Monday 17th December. The band formed in March this year and have quickly become well-known on the Leeds music scene playing gigs at the 360 Club and Brudenell Social Club. The track has received plenty of support from on-line bloggers and has been played on BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio.
The track has been mixed and mastered by Steve Whitfield, who has worked with recent Mercury Prize winners Alt-J and fits into the rising psychedelic scene being championed by the likes of Tame Impala and Born Blonde.
The track has a wonderful song structure, starting off with slow chiming guitar that builds and soars towards a manic crescendo which draws you in and carries you along before dropping you out on the other side!
Leeds Music Scene described their sound as ‘equal parts Kasabian and Zeppelin’
The band are currently recording their debut album with plans to release in early 2013. Steve from the band said ‘it has a very live feel, atmospheric with psychedelic sounds and bursts of heavy rock. There are also talks to play Liverpool Psychedelic Festival next year.’
Absence Of The Noise will be available from iTunes, Amazon MP3 & Spotify from Monday 17th December 2012.
