Public Service Broadcasting go Dutch

PSB Go DutchThe Public Service Broadcasting mantra of Inform-Educate-Entertain has now gone continental as J. Willgoose, Esq. and Wrigglesworth go Dutch with two-part special Elfstedentocht

The Elfstendentocht or Eleven Cities Tour is a 200km ice-skating tour held whenever the ice is thick enough along a route of frozen canals, rivers and lakes in the north of the Netherlands taking in the eleven historic cities of the Friesland province and last held in 1997. If nothing else great pub quiz trivia!!

The project came about following an approach by Explore the North Festival in Leeuwarden, Holland who asked PSB to soundtrack the Fries Film Archief footage. Check out the fruits of their labour below.

Part One is a guitar driven, energetic affair that matches the harsh conditions and physical executions of the race. Part Two is an electronic led track with a haunting synth that captures the bleakness of the frozen wasteland.

Proving that language is no boundary for great music PSB have yet again created a composition that works on so many different levels.

New single Night Mail will be available from 4th November on Test Card Recordings along side a DVD accompany the critically acclaimed debut album Inform-Educate-Entertain featuring original films edited by the band and their collaborators for each track of the album as well as numerous extras, including short films shot on the road with the band and live footage at Village Underground in London.

You can also catch the band on a full Autumn tour of the UK, details of which can be found here
